All Weekend Long  -  Skate-a-Whirl 2017  -  Able Seedhouse &Brewery

All weekend long, join fellow skate enthusiasts to support City of Skate, an organization whose mission is "to develop world class skate parks across Minneapolis and St. Paul.” This event hosts over twenty-five unique artists with work ranging from photography, screen prints, and posters, to community art, graphic art, and more. Beyond the talented artists set to appear alongside their work, there’s also a brand new skate park to enjoy and a fine selection of beers by local brewery, Able. All Weekend Long  -  Art-a-Whirl 2017  -  Northeast Minneapolis Art Association

This freeart crawl event, hosted by the Northeast Minneapolis Art Association, allows visitors to explore artists’ open studios and galleries. With more than fifty locations to track down, this sprawling event takes over booths, storefronts, local business and more. Some of the restored, multi-usebuildings that will be showcasing artists’ work include: the Thorp Building, Keg House Arts Building, Casket Arts Building, the California Building, and the Northrup King Building—to name a few. All Weekend Long  -  Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters  -  MinneapolisInstitute of Art

Join fellow film lovers in exploring this cinematic exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro contributes his paintings, drawings, concept art, artifacts, and other filmmaking accessories for display, stemming from films such as Pacific Rim and Pan’s Labyrinth. This show is only on display until May 28, so be sure to catch it this weekend for a cool $20—the perfect, affordable way to spend an afternoon or take a date.
