Your Twin Cities and Eden Prairie Events Guide to the 4th of July

Brace Helgeson

There’s nothing quite like the Fourth of July. From barbecuing with family and friends to the most dazzling of fireworks displays, the Fourth of July holiday brings together communities all across the Twin Cities region. If you and your loved ones are spending this all-American holiday in the Eden Prairie and Twin Cities areas, below you’ll find a helpful list of what’s happening in our community this Fourth of July.

4th of July Hometown Celebration

Taking place on both the 3rd and 4thof July, join the Eden Prairie community at Round Lake Park from 7:30AM to 10/11PM for a wide array of activities for the whole family. On Sunday the 3rd, start your day with a swim at Round Lake’s beach, followed by the 3rd Lair Skateboard Competition beginning at noon. In the evening, enjoy events ranging from bingo to live music until 10PM. More information on Sunday’s event can be found here.

Then, on the big day, circle back again to Round Lake Park for an early morning Pickleball Tournament at 7:30, followed by the Optimists 5K. Beginning at 10AM, join spectators at the Eden Prairie Baseball Association Firecracker Classic. Beginning at noon, the Hometown Celebration will offer all sorts of family fun, including face painting, chalk art, BMX demonstrations, bingo, water activities for all ages, and more. A magic show is set for 8PM, and then the much awaited fireworks show will light up the sky beginning at 10PM. More information on Monday’s 4th of July event can be found here.

Firework Watching in Minneapolis and St. Paul

If you’re spending the holiday in the Twin Cities area, check out a few of these much loved locations to catch a glimpse of firework magic. From the Stone Arch Bridge, spectators can relish the history of Minneapolis from its landmark perch above the Mississippi River. More information can be found here.

If you’re hoping to spread a blanket beneath a fireworks display, head to Gold Medal Park, one of Minneapolis’ scenic community gems. Situated close the riverfront, this ideal viewing spot is perfect for families and picnickers alike. To learn more about Gold Medal Park, click here.

For a VIP, top-tier viewing experience, there is nothing quite as classy and classic as watching the fireworks from the Mill City Museum’s Observation Deck. This is a limited admittance event, with only 50 tickets available, but it’ll be a night you won’t soon forget. For $35 you’ll enjoy privileged access to the observation deck, in addition to a pre-fireworks museum visit.

If you live in or around the Eden Prairie or Twin Cities region, there is certainly no shortage of community celebrations to partake in this 4th of July. Living in the Minneapolis area provides access to vibrant culture, world class scenery, and unmatched quality of life for individuals and families alike.
